Accountability Groups

Procrastinating all the time? Struggling with motivation? Catching a case of senioritis? Joining an accountability group can help you boost motivation and productivity while developing peer connections and study habits. Accountability groups meet once a week for 90 minutes in the Carmichael Library. During the group sessions, you can expect to create a to-do list of goals to accomplish, work on individual tasks, and celebrate your progress with the group.

Jaxon Headshot2 Jaxon is a junior studying elementary education. After graduation, he aspires to obtain a masters in secondary education. He is from McCalla, Alabama and a wrestler on the wrestling team. He sticks to a strict schedule because he is on track to graduate in three and a half years, instead of four, but in his free time, Jaxon likes to train with his teammates, spend time with his family, and relax with his cat, Miso. As an athlete his days are long and free time comes sparingly, so he is a professional at balancing a schedule and creating study plans.
Eva Headshot Eva is an honors student who started at UM in 2023; she is a sociology major and political science minor, and she has plans to obtain a masters in cultural anthropology after graduation. Afterwards, she wants to work for the government while also making time to travel to new places. She lives in Alabaster, Alabama, but originates from Illinois. She specializes in creating study schedules.

Elisabeth has been the Student Success Coach at UM since 2022. She received her Bachelor’s in History from UNC-Pembroke in 2018 and completed her Master’s in History from Ashland University in 2022. As a first-generation, non-traditional college student, her past experiences assist her as she provides academic coaching to students who may need additional support to help them acclimate to the rigors of the college experience. Elisabeth provides one-on-one coaching to address the student holistically. She also trains and leads the Peer Academic Coaches.
