What is the application process?

How Do I Apply for the Honors Program?

  1. Students who wish to be admitted to the Honors Program must first apply for regular admission to the University of Montevallo.
  2. Then, apply separately to the Honors Program using our online form . The deadline for the Fall 2023 application is February 1, 2023.

Students will receive confirmation of their admittance by mid-March.

The Honors Program application includes an essay, requires a résumé, and asks for a student’s GPA.  A committee comprised of seven faculty members, representing the College of Arts and Science, the College of Business, the College of Fine Arts, and the College of Education and Human Development, plus representatives from Admissions and the Carmichael Library, reviews the applications. While there are no set requirements, the committee typically prefers a high GPA and heavily focuses on the essay.  Additionally, the committee evaluates the student as whole, reviewing a student’s involvement in extracurricular and community activities.
