The University of Montevallo offers classes needed for a candidate to fulfill the requirements for a Temporary Special Education Certificate (TSEC) for grades 6 – 12. Candidates must have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution and be employed by a school/system. The employing superintendent or private school administrator must request a TSEC for the candidate. After the candidate has completed the required TSEC applications, coursework, and assessments, they will be eligible for a Class B teaching certificate. Please note that all TSEC coursework must be completed at the same University.
Candidates are admitted as enrichment/non-degree seeking students and are eligible for a special bundled, discounted tuition rate. This rate offers applicants a discount of more than 25% on regular graduate tuition and fees.
