Dr. Ashley Wurzbacher is the author of the short story collection Happy Like This, the winner of the 2019 John Simmons (Iowa) Short Fiction Award, a National Book Foundation ‘5 Under 35′ honoree, and a New York Times Editors’ Choice. She received her PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Houston and her MFA in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Houston. Her short stories have appeared in The Kenyon Review Online, The Iowa Review, Prairie Schooner, The Cincinnati Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, The Florida Review, The Southeast Review, Gettysburg Review, Colorado Review, and other literary journals. Her next book, a novel, is forthcoming from Atria Books.
