This is a reminder to ALL Juniors and Seniors. This FRIDAY is the last day to register for the December 13th test date using a fee waiver. If you need a fee waiver (the first for 4 hours of ACT Prep; the 2nd one for a total of 8 hours of ACT Prep—either last spring, last summer or this fall) PLEASE call my cell phone immediately (505) 516-5007 or email me at email@example.com OR firstname.lastname@example.org .
I will leave a folder of ACT Fee Waivers and instructions in my box at the Upward Bound office, along with ACT registration packets. You can go by the office Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday and pick that information up. I will also have ACT Fee Waivers with me. You can call my cell phone and I can give you your Fee Waiver number. Then, you can register online.
IF you are registering by mail, you MUST have a paper copy of the ACT Fee Waiver.
Remember, SENIORS MUST have 2 ACT scores (or 1 ACT and 1 SAT) on file with Upward Bound BEFORE January 1 to qualify for stipends. That means you MUST make sure I have a copy of your scores.
JUNIORS Must have 1 ACT score on file with Upward Bound BEFORE January 1 to qualify for stipends. That means you MUST make sure I have a copy of your scores.
Of course, the higher the better—I’d love to see some 36 ACT scores—but the minimum is an 18—20 for college acceptance.
Finally, please keep Dusty Atchison in your thoughts and prayers.
Christian Winfield sent this request: I will copy and paste what she wrote: Dusty Atchison (West Blocton) has been in the hospital for over a week. He has been sick since October 24. His vision was worsening, and he is partially deaf. This Friday the 31st, I went to see him in the hospital, after finding out that morning his kidneys were shutting down and he was going to have surgery to have a stint put in. He is still on dialysis, but is slowly improving despite the fact he needs a transplant. Luckily, his stepdad may be a match, but his insurance will not pay for this hospital stay. We know he is going to be in the hospital for at least another week, but we are praying for him and hope this situation gets better soon.
Take care, and BUNCHES of angel hugs…….
