Tutoring Tonight – If you need tutoring tonight, please see Ms. Armstead in Comer 306.

Academic Probation –
If you are on Academic Probation, you MUST attend the Think Tank Tutoring class as listed on your schedule.

Counseling – For anyone interested in receiving individual, group, or family counseling, please contact Ms. Perdue at the UB office 205.665.6268 or about your interest in counseling.

Remaining UB Sessions: Tuesday, April 22; Monday, May 5.

Summer Component – June 1 – July 11 ALL students MUST complete the summer survey even if they do not plan to attend. For those who do plan to attend, please return the completed summer survey along with your $20 cash deposit. You will get your cash back at Check-in on Move-In Day, June 1st. If you change your mind about attending by May 5th, you will receive a FULL refund the night of the end of year reception. No refunds will be given after that date and no-shows will forfeit the money. The cost of attending the summer
component is FREE.

Work Study – Students interested in the work-study component MUST turn in work-study applications and sign up for an interview by April 11.  Bibb County and Shelby County Schools work-study interviews will be conducted on April 18th and Chilton County on April 25th from 9:00 -4:00 p.m. For additional information, contact Mrs. Gilbert at 665-6268 or

The last Super Saturday of this academic year will be April 26th from 8:30—12:30.
1) Grapevine contributors, please get your articles in by April 24th so we can have a great end-of-the-academic year issue!
2) The April 26th session will be the last opportunity for students to earn a fee waiver for the June 2008 ACT test.

All Students – Please forward AHSGE results to Mrs. Buff immediately so that we can know how many students will need additional assistance.

Seniors – Please give Mrs. Buff the following information no later than April 22.

  1. Senior picture
  2. Name of college you will be attending
  3. Scholarships received
  4. Dates of Awards Night/Honors Days
  5. Your senior contribution for the May Grapevine (check your email for details).

Juniors – All juniors should have an ACT score on file with the Upward Bound
office by June.  That means you need to take the test NOW!  Several colleges are considering moving the minimum ACT score to at least 22.  Get your score now before scholarships come due!

Freshmen and Sophomores – If you will have completed GEOMETRY by the end
of the semester, you should sign up to take the ACT Test in June.  The registration date is May 9th.   See Mrs. Buff tonight for a registration packet or pick one up in Think Tank Tutoring.
